When is ESDAL likely to be finally complete?
The trials for Stage 3 are now due to start in January 2009. You should now look to early 2010 for earliest completion of Stage 4.

When complete, will ESDAL provide a complete notification checking and management service?
No. Using ESDAL is not compulsory for hauliers, and the indications are that many if not most hauliers will continue to send their notifications direct to structure owners. So structure owners will need to continue to manage and check these direct notifications separately. They will also have to respond to hauliers directly.

Can we get ESDAL to send us the notifications it receives, so that we can manage both sources together?
Yes. After registering with ESDAL you can elect to have ESDAL forward all the notifications it receives to you, either by fax or email.

What then is then the best way to manage and check both direct and ESDAL notifications?
Carry on using your present system if you wish. Alternatively, consider using *** ABLOADS ***, which will integrate, manage and uniformly check notifications from both sources, and save you significant engineering resources!  *** ABLOADS *** will also enter ESDAL generated email notifications automatically.
