*** ABLOADS QuickCheck ***, the junior member of the *** ABLOADS *** family, is an invaluable tool for Engineers and Abnormal Load Officers working for highway bridge authorities who have to deal with smaller numbers of faxes from hauliers and plant operators notifying the movement of abnormal indivisible loads over bridges in their care, and who have the responsibility of approving such notifications. It provides quite simply a quick, uniform and safe method by which loads may be checked over possibly critical bridges without incurring the delay and expense of reference back to another office or external consulting engineer. The program caters for normal span bridges, boxes, portals and arches of all types of profile, regular or irregular. Additionally, any special type of bridge that can be modelled as a frame can also be checked. Haulier, vehicle and bridge details only need entering the first time of use. As the database builds up the program's facility of use expands. If so desired, the program can be used definitively to build up a hauliers and bridges database. *** ABLOADS QuickCheck *** is the checking engine from its comprehensive abnormal loads checking and management parent, *** ABLOADS ***. Its checking components are runtime versions of Cascade Software's well known bridge assessment programs *** ARCH *** and *** ANALYSE ***. *** ABLOADS *** has been managing and checking all abnormal load notifications received by Kent County Council since 1997. *** ABLOADS QuickCheck *** is a 32-bit program designed for the Windows 9x/NT/2000/XP operating systems.
